How to get to Amari

The nearest airport in Amari is that of Chania and the nearest port is that of Rethymnon, while the ones of Heraklion come next. If you choose to move from there with long-distance public transportation (bus) to Amari, you should take the bus to Rethymno and from there you should change the bus to the destination you are interested to. However, if you want to have freedom of movement and visit all these attractions and villages of Amari and discover the region whenever you want, we suggest you rent a car during the days of your stay.

Move by Bus

Public long-distance transportation (bus) in Crete unfortunately only covers the basic destinations including just the major urban centers and some popular destinations. Thus, there aren’t frequent buses for the other destinations. The routes to Amari especially, are not many and you can’t usually find them at very convenient hours. Specifically, from the city of Rethymnon there are routes to: Nefs Amari, Patsos and Ano Meros. See the routes analytically on the Bus website Chania – Rethymno:http://bus-service-crete.com/bindexgr.html
